Nicole Tignor
Our county needs someone who can work with the systems that can make or break how our county operates. Sharon as chair will give our county that opportunity to get systems back on track!

Michael Frommlet, MD FACEP
Sharon is uniquely qualified to lead Portland and Multnomah county out of the persistent crisis of homelessness, substance abuse, and mental health care. Her credentials as an MD, emergency physician and JD are ideal for this critically important job, and her smarts, pragmatism and engagement are beyond exemplary. I have had little faith in the previous approach of just throwing money at this complex problem, and it is absolutely clear that did not work at all.
The solution is a multidisciplinary, intelligent, and comprehensive systematic creation and funding of essential building blocks for enduring solutions that are financially viable. I have not seen wise use of resources in the past two decades in this county but trust Sharon with fiscal discipline and accountability of how tax payer's money is best spent and invested.
Please take the time to read and study her outline of her action plan - it is well thought out and, in my opinion, a feasible, realistic and effective road map to success. I don't mind paying taxes but want my money to go toward intelligent solutions rather than paying for temporary band aids, as has been the case in the recent past. More importantly, the underserved population and the less fortunate among us deserve better. I believe that Sharon will show us that we can.

Dr. Carlos Jermaine Richard
Former Chair: Oregon Commission on Black Affairs. Adjunct Professor – Warner Pacific University. Member of the Historic Albina Advisory Committee (HAAB). Lifelong Multnomah County Resident.
Visionary, Strategic, Tenacious, and Empathetic are the words that I would articulate to depict the leadership of Dr. Sharon Meieran, who I believe is the only candidate in the race for Multnomah County Chair that has a vision to implement needed change in Oregon’s most populous and largest county. I first met Dr. Meieran in 2017 while serving as Director of Successful Families 2020 with United Way of the Columbia-Willamette and immediately I knew she was special, driven, and compassionate about ensuring that Multnomah County residents receive vital and critical safety net services while simultaneously asking tough questions to determine if stated outcomes were achieved. Further, Dr. Meieran’s direct approach is what’s needed as the next leader of Multnomah County and has publicly disseminated a vision, mission, and plan to fix and repair Multnomah County and address systemic issues that continue to stifle growth, innovation, and effective problem solving.
This is why I support and endorse Dr. Sharon Meieran for Multnomah County Chair.
Run Sharon Run! Win Sharon Win!

Pippa Arend
Sharon is the only candidate with a plan, and an effective and implementable one at that.
-

Randy Lauer
During my time as Mayor of Troutdale, I had the fortunate experiences on multiple occasions to work with Dr. Meieran on various issues plaguing Troutdale and Multnomah county. She was forthright, logical, reasonable, and professional. Sharon approached difficulties with the same amount of care I’d wish for any county commissioner to possess. I know she’ll bring that same dedication when elected to county chair. That is why I endorse Dr. Sharon Meieran for Multnomah county chair.

Sharon has the experience to really move the needle to get real help to our city as we are in a crisis created by the current leaders driving. She’s a stand up type of gal we need.
-

Stephen Reder, PhD
Sharon has a clear plan to use evidence-based programs and policies to address major problems facing our county and city such as homelessness and behavioral health issues.
Basing budget decisions on independent evaluations of programs’ impacts on measured life outcomes, Sharon’s plan offers a cost-effective and impactful way to meet the needs of our county and city.
This is not just wishful thinking, this approach has worked well in other counties and cities across the U.S. where it has been tried.
-

Andy Olshin
We need a leader who is not trying to court a union vote, who has not spent decades overseeing a forlorn school district and who has actually performed direct service for our houseless neighbors.
-

As a physician, Sharon understands that compassion requires thoughtful action and not wishful handwringing. We need a leader in Multnomah County who will solve problems, not create confusion.
-

David Kahl
I’m hard pressed to limit my reasons to support Sharon Meieran but suffice it to say that she is void of platitudes, though it is her articulate assessment of the County commission that stands out. What’s more, she demonstrates the capacity that is missing with the vast majority of candidates and officials; not leaving it at telling us what’s wrong, but providing a legitimate prescriptive to the ills and issues we face.
-

Paige Powell
Sharon Meieran plans to make Portland a stronger, more effective government body that supports small businesses, people experiencing homelessness, people with serious drug addictions, the broken public school system, and Multnomah County Animal Control. As a born-and-raised Portlander, I am beyond sickened to be living in this nightmare. Sharon is the only one running, not “owned " by any organization, and was a lawyer, former councilperson, and emergency room doctor. Please vote Sharon Meieran for County Chair-it’s an Emergency to get the right one to steer us forward.
-

Cynthia Catto
Sharon is a voice of reason with a clear sense of what needs to be done in Multnomah County and the experience professionally and as a former Commissioner to get us moving in the right direction.
-

Heath Curry
Dr. Sharon Meieran has walked our sidewalks providing hands-on street care and treats our community's crises every day in the emergency room, embodying the rare empathy, ethics, and courage it takes to confront human suffering directly. She brings that frontline diagnostic honesty to County Hall, cutting through bureaucratic red tape to demand real accountability and treat our behavioral health collapse like the true medical emergency it is.
-

Michele Mei
I endorse Sharon Meieran for county chair because she speaks the truth, and isnt afraid to call out poor spending votes. Having gotten to know her this past 2 years; I can attest to her competency, integrity and intelligence. She has a plan for our county. A sensible; results driven plan and I stand 100% with her.
-

Sharon has the expertise, passion and commitment to public service that makes her deserving of our vote.
-

Cheryl Coon
In my 74 years, I have never met a person running for office more qualified, competent or honest than Sharon Meieran. I also had personal experience with her willingness to fight for what is right when I was running a nonprofit for disabled folks. She has my full and enthusiastic support.
-

Gail O'Connell-Babcock
Sharon's campaign promises are intentional and advocate for ordinary people used to having no voice. She has always followed through and never compromised on her advocacy for the those who are seldom heard because they are not monied or otherwise important.
-

Elisa Giobbi Mills
Dr Meieran’s professional background and experience, coupled with her extensively-developed plan and ability to deliver, are why I solidly endorse her and believe she’s the best person in Portland for this vitally important position.
-

Thomas Morgan
Multnomah County chair candidate Sharon Meieran has been making plans to reverse the county’s wasteful, ineffective and unpopular approach to homelessness, addiction and chronic mental illness since her first term as a county commissioner 10 years ago.
-

Melaura Wittemyer
Sharon is evidence based and has extensive experience treating the ills that plague Mult Co. She demands accountability and is not afraid to do the right thing.
-

Marc Perrone
Sharon has been a caregiver in a stressful situation and understands human needs at the boundaries, not just the mainstream. Her ideas for concrete planning, measurability and accountability, and elimination of overlapping, competing silos are so much more than just the progressive posturing we get too much of today.
-

Elizabeth Alexander

Sharon Kelly
As an ER Doctor, Sharon has first hand experience with the homeless, mentally ill and substance addicted residents in our county.
Sharon is the only candidate with a plan to address these issues, which she developed with experts.
Along with her experience on the county board, she has the heart to address budget issues and close the gaps to create real change in our cities, which will support our vulnerable residents and get on track to create a safer environment and better quality of life for all Multnomah County residents.
-

Marianne Fitzgerald
Sharon focuses on accountability and results. She does her homework and listens to people. We need Sharon’s leadership to finally manage the chaos that is happening at Multnomah County at taxpayer expense.
-

Arlene Wands
Sharon was one of the few commissioners who actually showed up to hear public testimony from the volunteers at Multnomah County Animal Shelter! There is a large group of shelter volunteers - I am among them- who is so grateful to her for caring what happens to the animals there. She heard our concerns and listened to all that we've witnessed at MCAS. She pledged to help the shelter. She actually listened to us. She actually cares. We love her.
-

Bryce Butler
For many years I've been impressed by Dr Meieran's work on the Multnomah County Council. The present County Chair has been an absolute disaster. Dr Meieran's commonsense and grounded direction is the needed course correction for Mutlnomah County.
-

Laura Ward Collins
I support Sharon because she has a tangible, actionable plan for helping the many people who are struggling with basic human needs and living in Multnomah County. As a former emergency room doctor (as well as lawyer), Sharon is a compassionate and highly motivated problem solver…and Dr. Meieran would be an incredible Multnomah County Chair.
-

Amy Levy
Please help the animals.
-

Melody Haller
I've rarely been so impressed with the integrity, focus and capability of a candidate for public office. Sharon has my support, 100%.
-

Jeff Dennerline
As an elected official in East Multnomah County, Dr. Meieran is the only elected official who seems to have a shred of common sense. From homeless issues to ambulance response times, no one else seems to understand what the REAL problems are in East County.
