Accomplishments

Sharon Meieran has spent her time on the Board driving real accountability, sponsoring the Blueprint for Better Behavioral Health and the landmark opioid settlement lawsuit, reforming ambulance response, and casting the county's first ever "no" vote on a budget that didn't tie spending to results. As Chair, she'll bring that same rigor countywide: overhauling mental health and addiction systems, implementing zero-based budgeting, and executing the Comprehensive County Turnaround Plan.

Throughout her career as an emergency physician and public servant, Sharon has worked to thoughtfully address some of our community's most complex challenges. This page serves as a growing collection of documents and resources that reflect that work.

Deflection Letter

In July 2024, Sharon provided County leadership with a detailed analysis of the proposed deflection program, raising key operational questions and offering recommendations to strengthen treatment, recovery, and public safety outcomes.
